Computer Security Scan

Running this security scan on your computer before you connect to any network at University of Kent, will help ensure that your machine is safe on our networks, and help you connect quickly with a minimum of hassle.

Windows anti-virus

We provide F-Secure Anti-Virus software at no charge to University students and staff, which you can download from our Securing Your PC webpage. You will need your Kent IT Account username and password, which can be claimed online if you have not already done so.

Mac OS X anti-virus

A free anti-virus program is available called iAntiVirus, from the Apple website (for Mac OS X 10.5/10.6 only). Alternatively you may download ClamXav which works on older Mac OS X versions.

Scan your PC

If you are going to connect your computer to the Kent network, including Study Bedroom Network, Kent wireless network (Eduroam) and Kent Home VPN service, you must ensure that your computer is secure. This tool will allow you to do so.
